Everything seems stable - now to balance better
So... after dozens of hours, we have a workable game that is in a good enough place for me to feel good about putting it up here.
Sure there might be some minor tweaks here and there, and a few more things I want to add or polish, but all in all she's all there.
It is in "easy mode" right now for bug testing purposes, starting with more gold than necessary, but I still feel like I need to balance it better. I have a table of gold/second that has been my underlying metric for balance which needs more fleshing out and playtesting.
At any rate - in this latest 621_v3 release you have;
- Title Screen
- Main gameplay loop complete with:
- dynamic "daily" rewards bar (activated by pressing "z")
- pop up menus
- 1-10 upgradeable levels
- auto-clicker mechanic
- dynamic progress bars for each area
- sound effects (with ability to mute)
- victory condition
- Victory screen that tells you just how much time you've wasted.
~1 week ago I would have not thought that this was a thing I could do. Granted I've spent a lot of time on it, but still. Proud of myself for tackling this challenge, and thankful for the various communities that have helped or provided feedback along the way. Big thanks to those who reached out here or on discord with various bugs and notes. That was both insanely helpful, and humbling. I dedicate this release to all of you.
Next steps in priority order (as time allows):
- fix balancing
- made add a few more sfx and/or music
- increase level cap (likely repeat 1 again after this LOL)
